Prop Murray returns to Hull KR

Salford Red Devils prop Dan Murray has signed a one-year permanent contract with former club Hull KR. The 23-year-old joined Salford in 2016 but he had to wait until 2017 to make his Super League debut against Widnes Vikings. Murray has never been able to tie down a regular spot with the Red Devils and has enjoyed spells on-loan with Rochdale Hornets, Bradford Bulls, Halifax, Oldham and Hull KR. He made 11 appearances for the Robins during the 2019 campaign and has agreed a permanent switch until the end of the 2020 term. Hull KR head coach Tony Smith: “It is great that we have been able to extend Dan’s time with us. He was very keen to stay here, and I know he enjoyed his time with us. “He did a really solid job for us. His best years are still to come, and he is keen to develop his career. He has got a great attitude and work-rate, and he will add depth and experience to us next year. “It is a real shot in the arm that a lot of those players who joined us on loan during the 2019 campaign wanted to return, including Daniel. “They see it as an opportunity to improve their careers here and that is what we want – players that want to make some sacrifices and achieve things. They each fit the bill there and have points to prove to establish themselves as consistent Super League players.”
