This indicates that even though an agreement with Atalanta has not yet been reached, Manchester United are still in the forefront in the competition to sign the 20-year-old.
United reportedly made a bid of €50 million plus €10 million in add-ons yesterday, according to news reports.
The talented player has informed his club of his desire to depart.
According to Fabrizio Romano, United’s continued lead in the competition is the result of their greater offer.
Erik ten Hag will be keen to complete this deal. His team has struggled to score goals. Therefore a player like Hojlund might make all the difference in pivotal situations.

He replied: “Absolutely.”
“Two things: the pressing can be better from the start and scoring goals. I think we need more players capable to be one-on-one.”
“We had the situation. It was (Marcus) Rashford, Scott McTominay and (Alejandro) Garnacho. You have to score.”
