Paris Saint-Germain are reported to be keeping an eye on talented Chelsea youngster Tariq Lamptey with a view to making a swoop. The Parisians may have money to spend on some of Europe’s best players who are capable of playing first-team football, but they also have an eye on the hottest young talent and Lamptey falls into that bracket.
The 19-year-old – yet to make a senior appearance for Frank Lampard’s side – is impressing at youth level and it could only be a matter of time before he makes the breakthrough.
Chelsea could have to move quickly to secure him on a new deal as his current one expires at the end of the season, so he might be on the move then.
PSG are said to be monitoring the situation closely and are ready to make a move for a player who will be able to discuss terms with foreign clubs from the start of 2020.
Sporting director Leonardo is a big admirer and is ready to offer the talented youngster a deal in the hope he will decide to pursue a career with the French giants.
Lamptey has been a regular for Chelsea’s Under-18s and has also broken into the Under-23 set-up at Stamford Bridge. He has represented England at Under-20 level and is tipped to have a bright future in the game.
PSG scouts have been keeping a close eye on him and it looks like an offer will be put him in the new year if he opts to leave Chelsea.
