Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to discuss a new contract with Sergio Ramos.
The defender has made 28 appearances in all competitions since joining Parc des Princes in July 2021.
However, half of those appearances have come in 2022-23, after the 36-year-old had a near-disastrous debut season in Paris.
Ramos did not play in the Champions League due to injury, and he only made 12 appearances in Ligue 1, majority of which came after April.
A change in head coach during the summer could have affected the great Spaniard in a number of ways, one of which could have resulted in his departure.
Instead, Christophe Galtier has relied on the veteran, who has already made 13 starts and one substitute appearance this season in Ligue 1 and the Champions League.
PSG have not lost any of those games, and it now looks like Ramos could be rewarded for his rising influence in the locker room.
According to Le10Sport, club officials are now ready to meet with the centre-back and negotiate new terms.
As things stand, it’s uncertain whether Ramos will be open to negotiations at this point, given that the player is focused on earning a spot in Spain’s World Cup squad.
Furthermore, if he chooses to let his contract expire, the Real Madrid star may get offers from other continents, including the MLS.

Lionel Messi’s contract is also set to expire in the summer, putting PSG in the awkward situation of having to urgently debate the future of another star.
While PSG would love to extend the Argentine superstar’s contract, Barcelona is said to be closely monitoring any developments.
Messi is thought to be reluctant to discuss his future until after Argentina’s World Cup.
