Pundit Blasts Premier League Club And Manager Over Player Treatment

Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag has been slammed for the way he handled Jadon Sancho at the club through his “disgusting” treatment of the winger.

After an altercation with ten Hag, Sancho became excluded from United’s first team setup and had to train alone. The issue started when United’s manager left Sancho out of his team for the 3-1 loss to Arsenal on September 3 owing to his subpar training performance.

The 23-year-old responded by posting a message on social media in which he criticized his gaffer of making him the “scapegoat” by disseminating “completely untrue” information. Sancho spoke with Ten Hag this week, but was ousted for his refusal to accept responsibility.

A statement issued by Manchester United on Thursday read: “Jadon Sancho will remain on a personal training programme away from the first-team group, pending resolution of a squad discipline issue.”

Prior to their Premier League encounter against Brighton on Saturday, United were certainly capable without this problem. And former Tottenham player Jamie O’Hara thinks Ten Hag could have handled it better.

“I think it’s disgusting what they’re doing to him,” O’Hara said on talkSPORT.

“I know he’s come out and made a statement, whether that was the right thing to do or not… but was it right of Ten Hag to dig him out when he wasn’t even involved with the group?

“We all know Jadon Sancho needs to be better on the football pitch. And how he does that is getting him back playing football, getting him training and enjoying his football.

“What they’re doing to him right now is never going to get Jadon Sancho back to his best. They should be ashamed of themselves.”
