Aaron Ramsdale’s father has reportedly called Liverpool legend and Sky Sports pundit, Jamie Carragher a disgrace following his comments over the Arsenal goalkeeper.
The England goalie was forced to sit out for the third straight game, the Gunners’ entertaining draw to Tottenham Hotspur in the north London Derby.
David Raya, who joined from Brentford in the summer, had to wait for his first start. But he has gradually moved ahead in the Emirates Stadium’s goalkeeping hierarchy.
After the Spanish goalkeeper made an instinctive save to thwart Brennan Johnson of the Spurs, Ramsdale was seen praising his teammate.
Ramsdale’s response led Carragher to speak briefly in the Sky Sports studio.
He said: “I thought I was at the Oscars – you know when someone loses the Oscar and they start clapping and smiling for the other person. I was laughing when I saw that. He’s absolutely devastated….”
According to Liverpool Echo, the father, Nick Ramsdale took issue with the former Liverpool defender’s assertion. And he responded in a video clip posted on X.
“You are a Disgrace!! Show some class!! My lad has,” Nick Ramsdale replied.
