Jamie Redknapp has tipped Arsenal and Liverpool to miss out on a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.
The Gunners started the weekend in fourth place in the table with Liverpool and Manchester United on the coattails of Arsene Wenger’s side ahead of the weekend’s action.
Manchester United failed to seize their chance to hoist themselves above Liverpool and into fifth spot following a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
Liverpool managed to dislodge Arsenal in fourth spot thanks to the Merseyside outfit’s 3-1 victory over the north London side in the Premier League’s late kick-off.
Former Liverpool and Tottenham captain Redknapp believes Manchester United’s current form will help to see the Red Devils squeeze into the top four before the end of the season.
“I think so now [United to finish in the top four]. At the moment, you’re looking at the teams and wondering who is going to miss out because two good teams won’t make the cut,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“My top four if I was to pick at the moment is Chelsea, Man City, Tottenham and Man Utd, but it can soon change.”
Liverpool will host Sean Dyche’s Burnley side in their next Premier League game at Anfield on 12 March.
Manchester United will take on FC Rostov in the Europa League on Thursday night before the Red Devils make the trip to Southampton.
