Arsenal forward, Gabriel Jesus was an outstanding figure during his side’s 2-1 victory over Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
Speaking on the game for TalkSPORT, Scott Minto expressed his genuine admiration for the Brazilian international.
Although Jesus hasn’t had the best start to the season in the domestic scene, he has been brilliantly displaying his talent in Europe.
Though he has only struck the back of the net once in the Premier League. He has already scored in each of Arsenal’s opening three Champions League matches.
His goal was an outstanding play deserving of victory in any European tie.
The 26-year-old gave the Gunners a 2-0 lead at the time by cutting inside with his right foot and driving the ball past Sevilla goalkeeper Orjan Nyland.
He contributed to Arsenal’s opening goal as well, assisting Gabriel Martinelli in scoring his first goal in the competition.
According to Minto, Jesus’ direct running caused a lot of issues yesterday, so much so that Sevilla’s defenders were afraid to face him.
What Did Minto Say About Jesus?
According to TBR Football, following Jesus’s goal, Minto stated: “Brilliant again, just brilliant from the Brazilian!
“We saw the brilliance he had in making the assist for 1-0 for [Gabriel] Martinelli, well this time he just picks the ball up, sort of on the by-line.
“[Jesus] Navas cannot allow him to step inside on his right foot but they’re so scared of the skill that he’s got, he’s already shown brilliant bits of skill when he’s playing central.
“And now he’s picking the ball up left, he’s allowed to come back inside and it’s just a wonderful strike, giving [Orjan] Nyland no chance whatsoever.”

Right up until he pulled up in the last minutes clutching his hamstring, Mikel Arteta would have been thrilled with his performance.
Arsenal faithful will be praying that Jesus’s injury is not too severe and that he can continue his form from the Sevilla match into the Premier League.
