Former Premier League star, Chris Sutton has warned Arsenal striker, Eddie Nketiah that he has no future at the club advising the forward to leave in the January transfer window.
This season, Nketiah has made ten Premier League starts. In all other Arsenal League games, he has only appeared off the bench. However, the majority of those starts occurred earlier in the campaign due to Gabriel Jesus’s injury.
His October hat-trick against Sheffield United was his last goal in the League. Though, only Bukayo Saka, with six, has scored more than his five goals.
Despite Jesus being ruled out due to a knee injury, Nketiah did not start for Arsenal against Liverpool in the FA Cup. Instead, Arteta started Kai Havertz up front.
The German missed several opportunities as the Gunners were once again made to pay for their carelessness in front of goal. Nketiah played just ten minutes off the bench after Liverpool had taken the lead.
In a recent report by Evening Standard, Sutton reflected about Arteta’s choice to start Nketiah against Liverpool and advised the striker to think about his future.
“If I’m Eddie Nketiah, I’m wondering how I’m benched and [thinking that] I don’t have a future at Arsenal if I’m not starting as a central striker,” Sutton told the It’s All Kicking Off Podcast.

“[Mikel Arteta is] desperate, I get that, but what message does that send to Nketiah if Havertz is at number nine, what is Nketiah thinking?
“If I’m Nketiah, I’m thinking I can’t stay at Arsenal any longer, if you play a guy who has shackles on, come on, he has no future at Arsenal.”
