Pundit Claims ‘Liverpool Will Be On For Title’ If They Had Arsenal Midfielder

Former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville has claimed that Liverpool would be on for the Premier League title if they had signed Arsenal midfielder, Declan Rice in the summer transfer window.

Neville was speaking on The Gary Neville Podcast following the Gunners win over Manchester City 1-0 at the Emirates to make a significant statement in the Premier League title chase.

Mikel Arteta’s team had a standout player in Rice. The 24-year-old was in charge as the two rivals engaged in a sort of tactical match in the middle of the park.

This season, the midfielder has been outstanding. The fact that no one is currently discussing the transfer amount that brought him to the club says it all.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have had a promising start to the season. The Reds appear to be rebuilding their midfield department this season. And they are moving toward reclaiming the title they won in the 2019/2020 season.

There are a few things that Jurgen Klopp’s team should be worried about. Gary Neville acknowledged that they might be title challengers. But they might just be too vulnerable in the center of the park.

“They could, they’re more likely to than Spurs, no doubt about that,” he told The Gary Neville Podcast. “I think Liverpool have got something about them. Today they were playing against a really good Brighton side.

“The midfield, it’s attacking. Has it got the defensive stability, Liverpool?

“If you put Declan Rice in Liverpool’s holding midfield position, or you put Rodri in there, I’d be saying Liverpool will definitely be on for the title.”
