Ramires slams Hiddink for dropping him for no reason at Chelsea

Former Chelsea midfielder Ramires has claimed that Blues interim boss Guus Hiddink dropped him for no reason at Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian international joined Jiangsu Suning of the Chinese Super League back in January much to the surprise of many, following several other big- name players to the Far-East, as he was arguably one of Chelsea’s better performers in the first half of the season.

The Blues endured a horrendous start under Jose Mourinho this term, losing nine of their opening 16 Premier League games, resulting in the Portuguese’s sacking back in December. Hiddink was drafted in soon after for his second spell as the club’s interim boss, and has steadied the ship admirably since his arrival.

In Ramires’ eyes though, the Dutchman played a huge role in ending his career at Stamford Bridge, claiming that he didn’t like him as a player.

“When Hiddink arrived, he took me out of the side for no reason,” the 29- year-old told Chinese website pptv.com. “I couldn’t understand why because I had played well and fought hard for a team that was having difficulties.

“He didn’t like me as a player or my way and decided very rashly that he wasn’t going to give me an opportunity to fight for a place in his team. Hiddink’s arrival really complicated things for me and I just don’t know why… but I guess that’s football.”

Ramires scored two goals and created one chance in his 12 Premier League appearances for Chelsea this term, with a shot accuracy of 71% and an average pass accuracy of 80%.

The Blues sit ninth on 47 points following their impressive 4-1 win at Bournemouth over the weekend, 17 adrift of the top four with just four games remaining.

Next up for them is a big London derby clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night at Stamford Bridge, looking to bounce back from the disappointment of last night’s 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion, all-but ending their title hopes.
