Manchester United defender Raphael Varane has reportedly caught a virus that is sweeping through France’s team, making him a major doubt for Sunday’s World Cup final against Argentina.
Varane and Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate are the most recent players to become unwell in the French camp, with a disease spreading through the team and bringing flu-like symptoms, according to French magazine L’Equipe.
Didier Deschamps is now facing a centre-back dilemma, with Dayot Upamecano also missing France’s 2-0 semi-final win against Morocco due to sickness.
Adrien Rabiot was another French player who missed out on the Morocco win due to the bug.
