Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford has stated that he will take a break from social media this summer.
After a challenging season with United in which he has found it difficult to resurrect his prior form, Rashford has pledged to “reset mentally.”
Compared to his 30 goals the previous year, the England international’s eight goals at the end of the campaign across all competitions was an abrupt drop.
Despite appearing in the advertisement, the Red Devils star was left out of Gareth Southgate’s 33-man provisional squad, losing his place in the England team.
Following his admission that the campaign wasn’t his best, Rashford made it clear that he would be withdrawing from social media.
He wrote on X: “It’s time to come off socials for a few weeks.
“I plan to rest and reset mentally after a challenging season individually and collectively.
“Thanks to the fans that stood by me through a difficult period. To the ones that didn’t, just remember at United, we always stick together.”
After facing a barrage of online criticism, Rashford was forced to respond, saying that ‘enough is enough.’
Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo scored goals in United’s 2-1 FA Cup victory over Manchester City during the 26-year-old’s final game of the season for the club.
