Manchester United minority owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has reportedly identified Brighton and Hove Albion teenage star, Evan Ferguson and is ready to pay big fee to sign him next summer.
The 19-year-old definitely fits into Ratcliffe’s mission of rebuilding the Red Devils team. And making Old Trafford the greatest place for hot prospect development.
Ferguson would be a true statement of intent for Man Utd, whose recruitment team has reorganized. With a new striker ranking among their top priorities.
In his first five Premier League games, the youngster scored three goals and provided two assists, launching him onto the scene the previous season. During the campaign, he scored 16 goals across all competitions.
According to TeamTalk, Ben Jacobs, a transfer journalist, claims that United are seeking to add competition for Rasmus Hojlund, and Ferguson is the ideal candidate.
The Brighton star has been linked to both Liverpool and Arsenal. So they might not be the only teams vying for her.
Ratcliffe is willing to pay whatever it takes to sign Ferguson. But the club will probably have to sell players before they can approve a big-money deal because of the Premier League’s sustainability and profit rules.
“I think that from Manchester United’s point of view, they wouldn’t be starting anywhere near £100 million if they proceed with Evan Ferguson.

“It would probably be more in the region of £70 to £80 million. Which I suppose is relatively close to the package that they ended up paying for Rasmus Hojlund,” Jacobs said.
“So Ratcliffe is prepared should Manchester United be able to. Under financial fair play and profit and sustainability rules, pay these big fees. Providing he gets value and longevity from the player.
