Spanish football giant Real Madrid is close to acquiring a new player.
The reigning La Liga and Champions League champion has been demolished by injuries in 2024/2025, and it is unlikely that it will be able to call on the likes of Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal for the rest of the season after both sustained ACL injuries.

David Alaba suffered the same injury over a year ago and has yet to return to the field, while Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappe were out for weeks at a time toward the end of the year.
Madrid has already been granted the permission to quickly recruit up to five players who are not already employed by a professional team.
President Florentino Perez did not seize the chance and with the January transfer market beginning in a few weeks, Madrid is apparently close to signing a defensive reinforcement.
That would be 18-year-old Leganes center defender Lamini Fati, who presently plays for the club’s reserve squad, reports Forbes.
Although the transaction is not yet complete, the parties involved have reached a “quite advanced” agreement.
The teenager’s entry will not need the activation of a release clause, but rather a “understanding” that might cost as little as $126,000 (€120,000) if Fati fulfills his promise and climbs through the ranks.
