Real Madrid Confirm Injury Layoff For Karim Benzema

Karim Benzema will be out for about four weeks after Real Madrid announced he had a hamstring issue sustained against Celtic.

Benzema sustained a knock in the first half of Real Madrid’s Champions League opener against Celtic. He was however not able to recover from the knock.

A few minutes later, Eden Hazard replaced the leading scorer from the previous campaign. He immediately walked toward the exit tunnel.

Real Madrid revealed in a statement that Benzema has an overload on the quadriceps, both in the right thigh.

Before the start of the international break, Madrid have three more games, and they almost certainly won’t have their talisman.

How Long Will Benzema Be Out For?

Benzema will aim to return for Osasuna’s visit in the beginning of October, depending on the how the injury evolves.
