Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Espanyol striker Joselu for the 2023-24 season.
The 33-year-old had a standout 2022–23 season, scoring 16 goals in 33 La Liga games despite Espanyol finishing 19th and being relegated to the Segunda Division.
That form has prompted Real Madrid to bring him back to the Bernabeu, where he first played for Castilla in 2010.
Joselu spent two years on the books at Real Madrid, but only made two first-team appearances, scoring once each in La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
The forward will now join Real on loan for a reported cost of €500,000 (£426,000), with the option to make the deal permanent for €1.5m (£1.3m) next summer.

Joselu, who will be unveiled as a new Real Madrid player on Tuesday, was a member of the Spain squad that won the UEFA Nations League title with a penalty shootout triumph over Croatia on Sunday night.
Real Madrid have already been active in the summer transfer window, bringing in Jude Bellingham and Fran Garcia, as well as the return of Brahim Diaz from AC Milan.

Los Blancos have also allowed Karim Benzema to join the Saudi Pro League, while Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio, and Mariano Diaz will leave when their contracts expire.
Joselu has spent time in the Bundesliga, Premier League, and La Liga since leaving Real Madrid for the first time in 2012. He has played for eight different clubs, including Stoke City, Newcastle United, and Alaves.
The Spain international could make his second appearance for the club when they begin their pre-season tour in the United States next month.
