Real Madrid are reportedly pondering a move for Dinamo Zagreb midfielder, Martin Baturina.
According to Sky Germany as reported by Madrid Universal, los Blancos are eyeing a deal for the 21-year-old who was recommended by Luka Modric, a star in the Madrid side.
Baturina joined Dinamo Zagreb’s youth program and has since made 128 senior appearances for the team, scoring 16 goals and dishing out 32 assists.
In addition to having five caps for the Croatian national team, the attacking midfielder has drawn interest from a number of European clubs.
In fact, Baturina turned down offers from Fiorentina, AS Roma, and Atletico Madrid this past summer in favor of staying in Croatia. But in 2025, there’s a good chance he’ll quit to pursue another opportunity in his career.
Madrid have reportedly stated that they are among the interested parties, and Modric, the club captain, has even suggested Baturina’s name.
Having observed the sensational midfielder up close while playing for the Croatian national team, the 39-year-old veteran is well-acquainted with him and appears to be confident in his potential, as evidenced by his recommendation of the player to the Spanish giants.

But the source also states that Carlo Ancelotti’s side may have difficulties since Manchester United, one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League, are believed to be interested in signing Baturina.
It is believed that Baturina’s contract with Zagreb has no release clause and runs until 2028. In the upcoming months, it will be intriguing to observe if Madrid’s interest in the young player develops into something more significant.
