Real Madrid is in the business of signing the world’s best players and managers, and they rarely have to worry about rival clubs vying for their star players. However, they are facing an attack from manager Carlo Ancelotti.
It’s been a difficult season at AS Roma, with Daniele de Rossi quickly replaced by Ivan Juric at the start of the season. The Croatian lasted only a few months until club great Claudio Ranieri was brought in to put a stop to their problems. Around the same time, there were rumors that the Giallorossi were interested in Ancelotti as well.
According to Diario AS, Roma has made contact with Ancelotti’s camp to try to persuade him to join them at the end of the season. However, the Friedkin family sees Ancelotti as the solution to their issues and has been directly involved in the drive to bring him in. Ancelotti spent eight years with Roma as a player.

“One day I would like very much to coach them,” Ancelotti has previously stated, but when asked about the position in December, he reaffirmed his devotion to Real Madrid.
“There’s a lot of chatter about it, but I’m fine here and plan to stay as long as possible. Ranieri is a friend, and he is doing really well, so I am pleased. I have a wonderful relationship with Roma and many fond memories, but there is still a long way to go between words and acts. For the time being, I’m content here and have no plans for the future. My current contract is for two years, however it can be broken or extended.
