Toni Kroos, Real Madrid legend received the Golden Man award from Tuttosport at the Golden Boy Gala yesterday night in Turin.
The German international, who retired after Euro 2024, received the award in appreciation of the important contribution he played for both Real Madrid and the German national team in his final season, when he was clearly at the height of his powers.
He was an important member of Los Blancos’ midfield, winning La Liga, the UEFA Champions League, and the Spanish Super Cup, and his departure has left a noticeable vacuum in Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Kroos did not attend the ceremony in person, but he made sure to be present virtually via video call. He spoke after being announced as the winner, explaining what it meant to him.

“This is a special night for me. It is wonderful to be acknowledged with such a distinguished prize. Also, the fact that so many former players and legends voted for me is very important to me,” he told Mundo Deportivo.
“It’s an honour and a very nice way to end my career,” he said further.
Other contenders for the honor included Rodri and Vinicius Jr., who had previously won the Ballon d’Or. However, Kroos finished ahead of the duo.
Notably, he was the only Real Madrid player to receive an award on the night, as Barcelona swept the other three major awards, with Lamine Yamal, Vicky Lopez, and Aitana Bonmati winning the Golden Boy, Golden Girl, and Golden Woman, respectively.
