PSG are interested in hiring Real Madrid legend and Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso to replace current head coach Christophe Galtier, according to Fabrice Hawkins.
The former Spain star, however, is not inclined to take the position as he wants to succeed Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid if the Italian departs the Santiago Bernabeu.
Alonso is a Real Madrid great who spent several of his most prosperous playing years there. Since retiring, the former midfielder has worked as a coach junior teams.
Alonso received his big chance this season from Bayer Leverkusen, and he has enjoyed a successful season in Germany.
The 2010 FIFA World Cup champion has led Die Werkself to the UEFA Europa League semi-finals, where they lost to Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma. Furthermore, he guided them from 17th to sixth position in the Bundesliga rankings.

Will Alonso Join PSG?
PSG are reportedly drawn to Alonso because of the way his team plays and how he manages the players, despite the fact that he lacks much experience at the highest level.
They have reportedly already made touch with the 41-year-old’s entourage.
They are unlikely to be successful in their pursuit of Alonso, however, for two reasons.
To begin with, the 41-year-old does not immediately want to leave Bayer Leverkusen, with the club eager to offer him a new deal.

On top of that, the report states that Alonso is keen to succeed Ancelotti as the manager of Real Madrid once the Italian tactician vacates the spot.
Over the past few months, when Ancelotti’s future had been in question, Alonso’s name had featured prominently in the rumour mill as a possible replacement.
However, the 63-year-old Real Madrid boss is set to stay put at the club for one more season.
As such, Alonso seemingly wishes to replace Ancelotti when that happens.
