Real Madrid Legends Lambast Ancelotti Following Defeat To AC Milan

Real Madrid icons, Predrag Mijatovic and Jorge Valdano slammed Carlo Ancelotti after Los Blancos’ 3-1 loss to AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday night.

Ancelotti has claimed that he is “worried” about his team after they lost at the Bernabeu for the second time in a row after losing 0–4 to FC Barcelona in the El Clasico over two weeks ago.

At several points during the night’s action, whistles could be heard when Madrid were defeated by Ancelotti’s former employers and most prestigious club in Italy—with whom he won two of his five UCL titles as manager.

Additionally, the Spanish media has criticized the most successful tactician in the elite competition.

According to Forbes, in an interview with radio station SER, Mijatovic, who scored the game-winning goal for Real Madrid against Juventus in the 1998 final, stated that although he feels “pity” for Real Madrid and their current situation, “the team has gotten out of Ancelotti’s hands.”

The success it has enjoyed in recent years, which includes a treble last term and two UCL crowns in 2022 and 2024 could be the reason for this, Mijatovic suggested.

“After two or three splendid years, with everything they have won, the team relaxes a little. It’s clear,” he said.

One of Spain’s most reputable pundits, Valdano, claimed that Ancelotti is to blame for Madrid’s concerns as coach.

“Whenever there is no order, the coach has part of the responsibility,” Valdano stated.

There are individual responsibilities. There are great players who have not yet found their best moment,” the Argentine also remarked.
