Aurelien Tchouameni has undergone a medical ahead of his formal debut as a Real Madrid player, with the 22-year-old midfielder taking over the No.18 shirt from Gareth Bale in a €100 million (£85 million/$107 million) transfer.
The France international joins the Blancos after a two-and-a-half-year stint with Monaco.
His current ability and future potential have prompted the current holders of the La Liga and Champions League crowns to invest substantially in him, with a hot prospect ready to wear a shirt in the Spanish capital vacated by a Wales international forwards when he went free this summer.
What Is Tchouameni’s Real Madrid Jersey Number?
The Blancos have declared that their latest big-money signing will take the No.18 spot in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

Who Else Has Worn Real Madrid’s No.18 Jersey?
Bale was moved from 11 to 18 after returning to the Bernabeu following a loan spell at Tottenham in the 2020-21 season.
That shirt was available since the previous occupant, Serbian striker Luka Jovic, had changed to No.16.
Marcos Llorente, Mariano Diaz, Lucas Vazquez, and Nacho Fernandez have all worn the No.18 jersey in recent years, while Raul Albiol had it on his back for four years between 2009 and 2013.
Real’s squad has included Javier Saviola and Antonio Cassano, as well as surprise addition Julian Faubert in 2008-09, and former England international defender Jonathan Woodgate, who moved to Spain from Newcastle in 2004.
Aitor Karanka, a three-time Champions League winner and former first-team coach, is another who has worn the number 18 on his back over the years.
