Arda Guler’s debut season with Real Madrid did not go as expected as a result of injuries and little playing time.
His performance level or ability level was unrelated to this lack of opportunities, reports Madrid Universal.
Rather, a major contributing factor was that he was having difficulty getting back to full fitness during a crucial time for the club.
The manager of Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti had to wait for Guler to be fully recovered before he could include him in the squad since the team had a string of crucial games in both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.

This meant that Guler was not able to contribute to the squad as much as everyone would have liked while he was healing.
But as the new season draws near, Guler has made great progress. His development was noticeable throughout the preseason tour in the United States, especially in the first friendly against AC Milan.
He has shown remarkable physical growth, growing stronger and more resilient in the field.
Not overlooked, he has also become a more proficient ball-shielder and defensive player, adding to the team’s defensive efforts.
Guler’s performance versus Milan showed that his body has now adjusted to the demands of elite football.
