Real Madrid Reignite Interest In Spanish Defender Set To Be Available For €15M

Real Madrid are reportedly looking to bolster their defense as they set for the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.

According to Fichajes as reported by Madrid Universal, Los Blancos may rekindle their interest in Aymeric Laporte.

The 30-year-old Spanish international, who is now playing for Al-Nassr, has been linked to the team in the past, and it now appears that a transfer may be imminent.

Laporte’s possible transfer follows Eder Militao’s injury, which has reduced Madrid’s center-back alternatives.

Laporte’s experience and strong performances at Manchester City before to his move to Saudi Arabia have made him a feasible candidate as their defense needs strengthening.

The notion is reportedly well received by the club’s sporting management, especially because the side are looking for stability at the back after recent setbacks.

Al-Nassr are apparently willing to negotiate the sale in the winter market for a price close to €15 million, which is regarded as a fair price for a player of Laporte’s caliber, given that Real Madrid have expressed interest.

However, Laporte’s present wage is a major obstacle to closing the deal. He makes about €24 million a year at Al-Nassr, which Carlo Ancelotti’s side would find challenging to match.

The defender would have to take a significant wage reduction in order for the move to be possible.
