Real Madrid Rejects Permanent Signing Of Brazilian Youngster

Real Madrid has chosen not to exercise the €15 million purchase option for Vinicius Tobias, a young Brazilian player in the summer.

The right-back, who is 20 years old, was on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk to Real Madrid from April 2022 to the summer of 2023.

The loan agreement was renewed for an additional season last year and came with a €15 million buyout option. Real Madrid has since decided not to activate that clause, though.

Vinicius Tobias has been with Real Madrid Castilla since joining the team, and he is supervised by Raul Gonzalez as reported by Real Madrid News.

Over the course of two seasons, he has made 59 appearances for Castilla and assisted on eight goals. He has also made one appearance for Carlo Ancelotti’s starting squad.

The 20-year-old, though, hasn’t persuaded the Castilla manager sufficiently, given that Raul frequently favored Pablo Ramon, a center-back who moved to full-back, during the previous season.

Moreover, since February, Alvaro Carrillo, another temporary right-back, has taken Tobias’ spot once more.

Although Raul was not persuaded by Tobias, the young artist’s chances are entirely lost given that veteran star Lucas Vazquez’s contract is about to be renewed.

The current deal for Vazquez expires at the end of the current campaign. However, as was previously announced this week, he will ink a new contract for an additional year and carry on playing right back in the starting lineup as Dani Carvajal’s backup.

Tobias’ tenure at Real Madrid is almost certainly coming to an end this summer, as there isn’t room for him in either Castilla or the senior squad.
