Real Madrid are reportedly set to make use of Pep Guardiola’s uncertain future at Manchester City to seal the signing of Rodri next summer.
Guardiola is yet to decide on his future, with his contract set to expire at the end of the current campaign.
It is unclear if his potential departure will affect the current team. But it was recently revealed that Madrid are interested in one of their best players ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to GiveMeSport, Real Madrid will be thrilled to sign City midfielder, Rodri.
Even though Rodri, who City paid £62 million for in 2019, is out for the season due to an ACL injury, los Blancos are still interested in the Spain international.
It is said that City are still prepared to keep off any potential suitors by offering the 28-year-old a sizable new contract.
In any case, Rodri’s affiliation with Atletico Madrid might discourage him from moving to the Bernabeu. And since he has a contract with City through 2027, it doesn’t seem probable that he will do so at this time.
Few clubs worldwide could afford the outrageous sum that the Cityzens would probably demand.
To find a temporary substitute for Rodri while he recovers from his knee injury, Guardiola’s side are anticipated to make a move in the transfer market come January.

Real Sociedad midfielder, Martin Zubimendi, who actually replaced Rodri in the Euro 2024 final, is being targeted by Man City, according to some reports.
Although Nicola Barella of Inter is on their list of targets, the Serie A strongholds believe he is untouchable.
