It appears that Real Madrid will have two new additions to its roster for its Champions League campaign.
Both center defender Eder Militao and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois have not played since August.
Courtois injured his left knee during a workout on the eve of a new season, which prevented him from making his debut in 2023–2024.

Kepa of Chelsea was brought in on loan to offer cover. “You never expect to go through something like this, but now you have to accept it and do everything to overcome it and come back even stronger,” he posted on Instagram in response to the situation.
Militao did not do much better, barely making it to the season’s first day.
However, he also suffered an ACL damage in the same knee during a Matchday 1 match against Athletic Club, and he hasn’t been seen on the field since.
Both players were out for the remainder of the season, much as Militao’s defense colleague David Alaba, whose own ACL calamity came towards the end of 2023 in – you guessed it – his left knee.
Proud to have a winning mentality, which is essential at a team like Real Madrid, Courtois and Militao, however, are anticipated to become available for Carlo Ancelotti in the spring, effectively becoming two ‘new signings’ to bolster the La Liga and Champions League title pushes, as this kind of development is frequently conveyed in Spain.
There have been rumors for a while that Militao will make a comeback at the end of the month, courtesy of publications like AS.
