Real Madrid goalkeeper, Andriy Lunin reportedly missed training due to fever just few days before Los Blancos’ UEFA Champions League final clash against Borussia Dortmund.
Madrid had their second training session before the showdown, but some players did not show up for the exercise.
According to Mundo Deportivo as reported by Madrid Universal, Lunin did not take part in today’s training at Valdebebas because of a fever.
Due to the illness, the 25-year-old Ukraine international was not present for training yesterday. And it doesn’t appear that he has recovered enough to return today either.
The two days that Lunin was absent from training could help Thibaut Courtois’ chances of playing in Saturday’s UCL final against Dortmund.
Despite playing in just four games this season, the Belgian goalie seems to now be the favorite to start in goal.
Furthermore, Lunin’s absence from training for the past two days and the uncertainty surrounding his return tomorrow could strengthen Courtois’ candidacy.
In addition, the 25-year-old was not the only goalkeeper not in training today. Kepa Arrizabalaga also requested permission from the club to miss the session.

The injured Aurelien Tchouameni and David Alaba did not train with the group as well. Though the latter did engage in some individual work.
Los Blancos are chasing their 15th UCL victory, but Dortmund are currently standing in between them and the Holy Grail.
