In an attempt to replicate the strategy he employed to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is keen to meet a current Manchester United player.
In 2009, Ronaldo left England for Spain, moving from United to Madrid in a then-record-breaking £80 million deal.
Before leaving for Juventus in 2018, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner established himself as the greatest player in Los Blancos’ illustrious history.
Sport Bible notes Madrid has since changed their approach to transfers. The club is now focused on developing younger talent rather than signing ready-made superstars.
With the addition of Endrick to their attack this summer, they have strengthened their midfield with the additions of Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, and Aurelien Tchouamini.
Alejandro Garnacho, a winger for United, is reportedly the target of Perez’s current push, according to the Spanish publication Real Madrid Exclusivo.
The 19-year-old is one of Erik ten Hag’s most-used players and has been a shining light for the team this season. Real has been keeping an eye on Garnacho for the past 12 months; he has seven goals and four assists.
Perez will be in Manchester the following month for Real Madrid’s quarterfinal Champions League matchup with Manchester City.
While in England, he is reportedly eager to meet with Garnacho and discuss possible trade options with the Argentina international.
Having played alongside Ronaldo during the Portgual legend’s second spell in England, the teenager is a huge fan of the player.
Garnacho participated in the whole 120 minutes of United’s thrilling 4-3 FA Cup quarterfinal win over Liverpool on Sunday.
Theo Walcott, a pundit for Match of the Day, praised him for his assist on Amad’s winner in the final minute.
Former Arsenal winger Walcott praised Garnacho’s calmness and quickness on the counter to find Amad.
Walcott Talked Up Manchester United Player
“He seems to be getting faster and faster,” Walcott remarked.
“The pass he delays it, delays it, and of course, Amad, fantastic finish.

“Look at him, you can see he’s got sort of, the veins of a Manchester United sort of player, a beautiful player to see.”
