Red Star Belgrade Coach Lavishes Praise On Barcelona Following Defeat

Red Star Belgrade boss, Vladan Milojevic has heaped praise on Barcelona with the way they outplayed his team in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

In their most recent meeting in the Europe’s elite competition, Barcelona overcame the Serbian side in a highly entertaining contest.

Iñigo Martínez gave the Blaugrana the lead in the 13th minute. But 14 minutes later, the hosts equalized through Silas, and Serbian coach Milojevic was obviously happy about it.

The game finished with a 5-2 result, though, as his team was unable to stay up with the Catalans. During the pre-match press conference, the Red Star Belgrade coach had already projected that his team would lose.

According to Barca News Network, the Serbian tactician expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance following the game.

“We fought as hard as we could… I’m happy as a coach, regardless of the outcome… Football is a game of mistakes. I’m proud of the coaching staff.

“We prepared for the match as we wanted, but Barcelona, as you know, is a team that controls every aspect of the game.”

Milejovic went on to praise Barcelona, and wanted his team to learn from the Blaugranes: “Tomorrow is a new day. Barcelona showed that they are an exceptional team; we can learn a lot from them.”
