Jamie Redknapp has hailed Antonio Conte for revitalising Victor Moses and turning him into a capable wing-back in his 3-4-3 system.
Moses has been on Chelsea’s books since 2012 but has been sent out on loan on three separate occasions with spells at Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham United.
The winger struggled during all of those loan spells but returned to Chelsea in the summer with a new sense of purpose under new manager Antonio Conte.
The Italian used him sparingly in the first few weeks of the season as back- up in attack but a shift to a three-man defence saw Moses used as a wing-back and he’s been excellent since.
“Who would have believed this time last year that Victor Moses would be playing as a wing back for Chelsea?” Redknapp said in the Daily Mail.
“It’s been an inspired decision by Antonio Conte and is just one of many changes he’s made.
“He’s switched the system to three at the back, got Eden Hazard playing in his preferred No 10 position — and all without established figures like Branislav Ivanovic and John Terry.”
Since Conte’s change in formation, Chelsea have won three games in a row and not conceded a single goal, including a 4-0 win over Manchester United.
In those matches he has scored one goal, created three chances and won 59% of his total duels.
