After inadvertently finding himself in shady company, a prominent Champions League referee was once arrested during a drug and prostitution raid at a “sex party.”
Slavko Vincic, who may officiate English clubs later in the competition, will oversee Tuesday night’s match between Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich.
With victories over Paris Saint-Germain, Club Brugge, and PSV on the road, Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal are all well-positioned to advance over the next two days.
According to the Daily Mail, Vincic, who officiated the Champions League final the previous season, was involved in a shady incident over five years ago.

After being arrested at the party in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the referee was freed by the authorities in May 2020.
The official was arrested together with Tijana Maksimovic, who police suspected of being the head of a prostitution ring, after attending what he claims was an invitation to a business lunch in the Bosnian city of Bijeljina.
Maksimovic entered a guilty plea in full to the criminal offense of international enticement to prostitution in January 2021, and a one-year prison term was proposed to her.
Officers reportedly detained nine women and 26 men in total, confiscated four cocaine packages, ten firearms, three protection vests, and more than 10,000 euros (converted from different currencies).
Vincic was questioned as a witness before being released, and he was not charged with direct involvement in the operation.
