REPORT: Conte in frequent contact with Morata over Chelsea transfer

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has reportedly contacted Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata in the last two summer transfer windows about a move to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

The Spain international was signed by Conte at his old club Juventus, and he remains a big fan of his as he considers options to replace the unsettled Diego Costa in the summer.

Costa is back in favour with the Italian after a row over his future last month, but it seems Chelsea are still eager to land a TOP class centre-forward for next season.

Morata is seemingly happy in Madrid, though he remains little more than a super-sub for Zinedine Zidane’s side at present and could be tempted by the offer of more first-team football.

Chelsea would be likely to be able to offer that to the 24-year-old, and Goal claim they’re eager to be at the front of the queue to sign him if he does decide to leave at the end of this campaign.

Conte is clearly pushing hard to convince the player himself by getting in touch with him so regularly in recent times, though Real are also unlikely to let him go too easily.
