Zlatan Ibrahimovic will have his medical at Manchester United after Euro 2016, according to reports.
The striker is available on a free transfer with his contract at Paris Saint-Germain set to expire at the end of this month, and he is set to seal his move to Old Trafford once his exploits with Sweden this summer are over.
As reported by Sky Sports, Ibrahimovic has already agreed personal terms on a switch to United, and is set to become the second signing of Jose Mourinho’s tenure at the club following the arrival of defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal.
Despite his advancing years- he will turn 35 in October- Ibrahimovic remains one of Europe’s most prolific goalscorers, as demonstrated by the fact that he scored 38 goals in Ligue 1 this season.
United struggled as a creative force at times this campaign, and were perhaps overreliant on the talented young duo of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.
Ibrahimovic will bring with him a vast amount of experience and, perhaps crucially, a winning mentality, with the forward boasting an enviable array of league winners’ medals from across Europe.
Mourinho will surely be seeking to make further additions to his squad ahead of next season, with the Portuguese determined to ensure that United can challenge for the Premier League title.
