Benfica defender Victor Lindelof has been given Manchester United’s number two shirt ahead of his £38million move to Old Trafford, according to reports in Portugal.
The Sweden international has been heavily linked with a move to the Red Devils and Benfica’s president was in Manchester last week to negotiate a deal.
The 22-year-old’s emerged as one of Europe’s most promising defenders during his four years in Portugal and he’s got 11 caps for his country.
According to Portuguese outlet RTP, United have agreed a £38m deal with Benfica and they’ve handed the Swede the number two shirt.
Rafael Da Silva was the last holder of the shirt before the Brazilian left Old Trafford for Lyon in 2015.
Lindelof’s signing will take Mourinho’s spending at the Theatre of Dreams past the £180m mark after his first transfer window in the summer.
