Jose Mourinho is the subject of an approach from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint- Germain, though his preference is to wait and monitor developments regarding the Manchester United job, according to reports.
The 53-year-old has been without a job for the last four months, after being
axed by Chelsea following a turbulent start to the season.
The Portuguese tactician has since taken a break from the game, but speculation has been rife as to where Mourinho will go next with a number of hot-seats in the reckoning around Europe.
Manchester United have been the one side heavily linked with Mourinho, with the former Real Madrid boss tipped to replace the under-fire Louis van Gaal in the summer.
However, Sky Sports now report that Mourinho has been approached by French giants Paris Saint-Germain, with Laurent Blanc’s future up in the air in the French capital.
The aforementioned source reports that chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi is understood to have instigated the approach to Mourinho, after talks with Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes.
The talks reportedly began immediately after PSG’s Champions League exit last week at the hands of Manchester City in the North West last week, with Blanc now under extreme pressure.
Sky Sports do go on to state that Mourinho’s preference is to wait until the summer to see whether anything develops at Manchester United, before then assessing his other options – potentially at PSG.
Former Manchester United defender, Blanc, may have inspired PSG to yet another Ligue 1 title this season, but the club have been pleading for European success over the last few seasons and keep falling at the same hurdle.
