Manchester United have been boosted in their chase for Jose Mourinho as it is being reported that the big name boss is house-hunting in the Manchester area. Furthermore, it has also been claimed that the ex-Chelsea boss has a verbal understanding to join and is waiting for written confirmation.
Mourinho, 53, is currently unemployed, having been dismissed by Chelsea in December following a poor start to the 2015/16 season with the Blues.
The Portuguese has been heavily linked with a move to Man United as current Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal has struggled to progress his team. Man United are currently fifth in the Premier League, one point behind fourth-placed Man City.
However, now the Sun are reporting that an agent, under the instruction of Mourinho, is looking for a property in the Chesire area.
Furthermore, the newspaper also claims that the two-time Champions League winner has a verbal understanding to replace Van Gaal at the end of the season. But Mourinho, according to the Sun, wants written confirmation from Man United after key Red Devils officials such as Sir Alex Ferguson have publically defended Van Gaal.
Meanwhile, Man United’s next game sees them face high-flying Tottenham. The Red Devils need to win if they are to maintain their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season.
