REVEALED: What Ronaldo told Courtois after Belgium eliminated Portugal

Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo used a typical Italian expression to tell Thibaut Courtois that Belgium had been ‘lucky’ in the 1-0 win on Sunday, as the ball ‘didn’t want to go in’.

Belgium eliminated the Euro holders in the last 16 against, with the Juventus forward chasing the all-time record for international goals.

The Portuguese superstar had matched Iran legend Ali Daei on 109 international goals with five goals in the group stage.

He is still one goal away from breaking the record as he left the pitch in Seville without scoring and was seen throwing his captain’s armband on the ground and started kicking it across the pitch until one of the staff members picked it up.

In the footage published by UEFA, Ronaldo told Courtois that Belgium had been ‘lucky’ with a typical Italian expression (‘Culo, eh?’) before saying in Spanish: “[the ball] didn’t want to go in today.”

Ronaldo then wished Belgium ‘good luck’ for the remainder of the competition, with the Red Devils setting up a clash with Italy in the quarter-finals.
