Rhinos confirm Peteru exit

Leeds Rhinos confirm prop forward Nathaniel Peteru will leave the club with immediate effect after his contract was terminated. Peteru only joined the club in 2018, signing a three-year deal at the Emerald Headingley Stadium. The Auckland-born ace played just 32 games for the Super League giants, but he dropped down the pecking order during the final few months of the season. Injuries restricted him throughout his time in West Yorkshire, and the 27-year-old has now been allowed to pursue other opportunities. He told the club’s official website: “Firstly I would like to thank the club, the players, the coaches and staff for making me and my family feel welcome during my time at Leeds. It has been a privilege to represent the club and has also been a great journey for myself. “I am thankful to the club for allowing me to leave to pursue my ambitions elsewhere and I would also like to pay tribute to the fans who have been unreal to me since I arrived at the club. I leave with fond memories and wish the Rhinos all the best for the future.”
