Rhinos consider Leeming move

Leeds Rhinos are believed to be interested in signing hooker Kruise Leeming from Super League rivals Huddersfield Giants. The Rhinos are believed to have made adding a new number nine to their squad a priority during the off-season, as Brad Dwyer is currently the only senior hooker on the books at Headingley. Matt Parcell was off-loaded to Hull KR midway through the 2019 season, while Leeds are not expected to offer Shaun Lunt, who moved the other way on loan, a permanent contract. Teenager Corey Johnson did make his debut off the bench in the final match of last season, but coach Richard Agar wants to add a more experienced player to push Dwyer for a starting role. Leeming would certainly fall into that category, as he has featured over 120 times in Super League since making his Huddersfield debut in 2013. The Giants could well be open to a deal for Leeming, who is under contract at the John Smith’s Stadium until the end of next season, as they look to free up space on their own salary cap.
