Rio Ferdinand Claims Arne Slot Let Two Liverpool Stars ‘Cheat’ In Win Over Man Utd

Rio Ferdinand claims that Arne Slot’s tactical brilliance enabled Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz to “cheat” against Manchester United. The Reds won 3-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday, marking Slot’s triumphant debut against the Red Devils.

Diaz scored twice in the first half, assisted by his fellow winger for his second goal, and Salah added to his tally in the second half with a left-footed strike past Andre Onana. Reported By Sky Sports.

Casemiro was heavily to blame for the defeat, having lost possession to Ryan Gravenberch for Liverpool’s first goal and being intercepted by Diaz for the second.

Ferdinand, on the other hand, emphasized how Slot ordered his wingers to take advantage of opportunities presented by United, which proved to be a significant factor in Liverpool’s victory.

On the ‘Rio Presents’ show, with former United teammate Owen Hargreaves and co-host Joel Beya, the ex-England captain explained that Salah and Diaz’s location allowed them to “cheat”.

He hinted that if they dispossessed United twice, they may reclaim possession high up the pitch and push for a goal.

“Let them cheat, that’s what we used to do,” Ferdinand informed us. “Initially let them cheat so if we do nick it, they’re high and their full-backs are high, they’ll never get back and two of the goals especially, the full-backs aren’t even in the picture.”

Slot has enjoyed an unblemished start with Liverpool, who are presently second in the Premier League and the only team yet to concede a goal this season. Erik ten Hag, on the other hand, is already feeling the heat after losing his first two matches and scoring just twice.
