Rio Ferdinand gave Leny Yoro a personal video message and advice on how to succeed at Manchester United. United confirmed the £52 million signing of the 18-year-old French star from Lille on Thursday night.
United’s offer of £42 million plus £10 million in add-ons was accepted last week, but there were concerns that Yoro preferred to join Real Madrid.

During a photoshoot in Manchester United gear, Yoro received a surprise from the club’s media team. Former United center back Ferdinand recorded a personal message for him, stating, “Welcome to Manchester United man!”
I wish you the best. I know you’ll work hard, and that’s the secret, man. Work hard. Work, work, work on every aspect of your game.
‘You have all the potential and all the tools, guy. You have everything you need to rock and roll and create an impact at this club.
‘It’s the best club in the world. It’s a beautiful place to be, go and enjoy yourself man, alright. I’ll see you soon, good luck. Let’s go, let’s go, let’s go! Leny, Leny, Leny!’
Earlier this month, Ferdinand made a personal plea to Yoro, urging him to join Manchester United.
Ferdinand loves Yoro’s game and has compared him to Arsenal‘s William Saliba.
‘If you’re looking Leny Yoro, please accept and come to Man United, please,’ Ferdinand said on his Vibe with Five podcast.
‘Man United, please, make the offer and please accept because this kid, I think his ceiling is as high as anybody right now, including Saliba.’
