Lewandowski was only on the bench for Poland’s final match against Malta, acknowledging during the international break that he was having injury problems.
Since then, the striker has acknowledged that he is feeling fine, and Hansi Flick informed media prior to Thursday’s game that the veteran is prepared to play, reports Barca Blaugranes.
He is prepared to play; whether he starts or not will be determined tomorrow. We’re in a good position, and he feels well. He added, “Ferran is also fit.”
Lewandowski agreed to a four-year deal for €45 million, with the possibility of add-ons that may increase the total to €50 million.
A €500 million release clause was part of the agreement.
Lewandowski turned into the most costly Polish player in history and the most costly sell in Bayern Munich’s history.
On August 5, in front of 50,000 spectators at Camp Nou, Lewandowski was formally introduced and given the number 9 shirt that Memphis Depay had previously worn.
He was formally registered on August 12th, despite rumors that the club’s financial troubles prevented them from registering him since they were over the league’s salary cap limit.
