Rodgers Not Interested In Newcastle United Job

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is not interested in becoming Newcastle United’s boss according to reports.

Current Magpies manager Steve Bruce is expected to be sacked following the £300m Saudi-backed takeover last week.

Previous reports have suggested that several managers are in contention to replace the 60-year-old at St James’ Park, including Graham Potter, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Antonio Conte.

Rodgers is another names who has been linked, however journalist John Percy of the Daily Telegraph claims that the Northern Irishman has no interest in taking charge at Newcastle and is fully committed to Leicester.

The 48-year-old signed a contract extension at the King Power Stadium in December 2019, which sees him tied down until June 2025.

Rodgers has guided Leicester to successive fifth-place finishes in the last two Premier League campaigns and helped the Foxes win their first ever FA Cup last season.
