Rodgers philosophical over stars leaving

Brendan Rodgers accepts players will move on from Leicester City to improve their salary but feels the club is a great place to develop. The Foxes are enjoying a superb season and sit third in the Premier League standings, just two points behind second-placed Manchester City.
Liverpool are a further six ahead but it seems the King Power Stadium outfit are here to stay this term and may well be challenging for a top-four berth at the business end of proceedings.
Rodgers has a young, vibrant group of players who seem to enjoy what they do and it has shone through in their displays and results in 2019-20.
Harry Maguire was big-name departure over the summer, while the likes of James Maddison and Ben Chilwell have been linked to Manchester United and Chelsea respectively.
The Northern Irish tactician has made it clear he is not concerned about the rumours and knows money can sometimes turn a player’s head. “The reality is we will never be able to pay what some of these guys can get at those clubs,” he said. “You can leave here and double or treble your wages. That’s the reality and it is important for players and people.”
Jamie Vardy opted to remain loyal to the East Midlanders when chased by the likes of Arsenal and is now flourishing as the current top-flight’s top scorer, with Rodgers suggesting the grass is not always greener. “It’s a great club here for them to come in and learn. It depends on what the player wants, though,” he added. “Look at Jamie Vardy, he was here and he had opportunities to leave but he decided no, to stay and continue the legendary status he has.”
Punters looking to use a free bet might fancy Leicester to finish in the top four and they are next in action at home to the Gunners on Saturday.
