According to Rodri, Manchester City should not hesitate to sign Nico Williams, a winger for Athletic Bilbao, before Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal.

One of Spain’s most impressive players in Euro 2024, the 22-year-old opened the scoring in his country’s 2-1 victory over England in the championship match.
During the summer transfer season, a number of teams expressed interest in Williams, with Barcelona, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal all considering potential deals for the midfield player.
However, after speaking with Williams via video connection during AS’ awards event in Madrid on Monday night, Rodri thinks City should also be in the running to recruit his Spain teammate, reports Metro.
“Yes, yes,” Rodri said in response to the ceremony host’s question about if he would “take Williams to City tomorrow.” Although it’s comparable to Bilbao, I would also tell him a little bit about the English cold if I were taking him right now.
“But without a doubt, I would bring him along.”
Although Williams’ contract with Athletic Bilbao has a comparatively low €58 million (£48.1 million) release clause, his €200,000 weekly wage was thought to have been a significant barrier for interested teams during the summer transfer window.
