One of the select few players who can claim to have played alongside both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo is AS Roma star, Paulo Dybala. There’s no doubt whatsoever that the Argentine is, however, Team Messi.
Dybala has now revealed in a recent interview that he once jokingly told Ronaldo, while they were teammates at Juventus, that there was hatred towards him because of his rivalry with Lionel Messi.
“I spent three nice years with Cristiano, the team was very strong and he added something more,” Dybala said to TalkSPORT.
“There’s a big rivalry between Messi and Ronaldo in Argentina.
“Once, we were flying out for a game, I was sitting at the back of the plane and he was slightly ahead. At some point, he came to me, we spoke about life in general for a while.
“I told him: ‘As a kid, I practically hated you.’ We laughed about it and we’ve always been on good terms.”

While the Ronaldo-Messi rivalry isn’t what it once was, the two players remain linked as they chase various club records near the end of their careers.
The argument over who is superior will, therefore, continue for now.
