His miserable tenure at Stamford Bridge could come to an end this summer, witt the new Napoli manager Conte allegedly looking to sign him.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Lukaku stated in an interview with Belgian television that Conte was the best manager he has ever had.
According to reports, when given the question, Lukaku immediately responded with the Italian’s name.
Jose Mourinho, Thomas Tuchel, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Roberto Martinez, and Simeone Inzaghi have all coached the 31-year-old at some point in his career.
His selection will fuel rumors that he may reunite with Conte at Napoli.
Lukaku also told Belgian TV that ‘the relationship with the coach has always had major weight in my transfer options.’
Conte was appointed as Napoli’s next manager on Wednesday, and Italian transfer specialist Gianluca Di Marzio says he has already contacted Lukaku to check about his availability this summer.
The attacker has also been linked with moves to Napoli’s Serie A rivals AC Milan and Roma, where he spent the season on loan.
However, Lukaku appears to be open to go to Saudi Arabia.
Speaking to HLN, Lukaku stated, “Saudi Arabia would not stop me.” The quality (of football in the country) will only improve. To considerably higher level than many people think.
