Kevin-Prince Boateng has hailed Ronaldinho as the best he has ever played with, even suggesting he eclipsed Zinedine Zidane, Diego Maradona and Pele.
The 29-year-old Las Palmas midfielder played with the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain attacker at AC Milan.
Boateng says the Brazil World Cup winner is the best player he has ever played with, despite Ronaldinho’s form starting to drop when he arrived at the club as a 28-year-old.
“Who’s the best player I’ve ever played with? Ronaldinho no doubt,” he told Fox Sports.
“When he arrived at Milan he had no great desire or was tired and was no longer the Dinho of before. But what he wanted was for people to see that he was the best player in the world. More than Zidane, Pele and Maradona.
“He wanted to hit the crossbar three times and did it. We wondered how it was possible there was so much talent in one body. It was unbelievable.”
Ronaldinho has been a free agent for over a year after his contract was terminated at Fluminense after failing to impress in his nine appearances, though he was not ruled out a return to professional football.
Boateng joined Las Palmas from AC Milan this summer and has netted two goals in five La Liga appearances this season.
The 29-year-old has had spells at Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, Portsmouth, Milan and Schalke before making a return to the Serie A side on a six-month contract.
